FAQs About the Inspiration Center

How did The Inspiration Center come to be?

After touring the country and seeing first-hand the state of children with disabilities, Belize's Special Envoy for Women and Children, Mrs. Kim Simplis-Barrow was moved to action. She wanted to provide more extensive and comprehensive services to children with special needs. Working in collaboration with CARE-Belize, the government and various other local and international organizations, Mrs. Barrow initiated the building of The Inspiration Center. Various stakeholders were consulted, needs were assessed and a strategic plan was made. Construction of the building began in 2012 thanks to generous donations from the people of Belize via two telethons and a variety of local businesses and international philanthropists. The center was launched in March 2014.
